Steve Harvey has been contracted by ABC in conjunction with MGM & Disney to produce a new Invention series called FUNDERDOME, similar to the Shark Tank but with twist.
The show’s novel theatrics combines studio participation to choose which Inventor’s product is most marketable and has more appeal for the audience’s own consumer use.
The show has Steve Harvey hosting, adding his personal touch of sensitivity, humor and good-fellowship. Steve Harvey is well known for his many newly created MC shows such as Family Feud, Celebrity Family Feud, Little Big Shots and now Funderdome, making him a audience viewership magnet. He draws in consumer’s because of his charismatic personality, good nature, mundane comic persona and great smile.
FUNDERDOME is a twist on the business- like show of the Shark Tank. The show allows inventor’s to be as charismatic as Steve, while engaging the audience simultaneously. With the give and go pull between Steve and the Inventor, it makes it a fun show to watch.
FUNDERDOME avoids the stuffiness that the Shark Tank sometime appears to personalize but includes the same level of excitement of the unexpected, but offers inventor’s to have their dreams come to reality.
The Inventor pitches to the audience, engaging them, if possible. The inventor must present their idea in a very limited time frame less then 2 minutes and provide as much pertinent detail of their invention as to what it is , features and benefits-if any, why it is marketable and the need for the money.
A hard proposition with less than 2 minutes, but the rewards are staggering if you win the various funding jackpots ranging from 5 digits to six digit intervals.
The pressure is immense for the Inventors but with Steve Harvey’s engagement and assistance, he steps in when needed to offer assistance to the Inventor and even questions them on their invention.
The Inventor’s show as it is called, offers both opponents to challenge each other and then decide if their pitch was receptive, gauge the audience if they appeared to like the product better and decide to cash-out. If you cash-out and the audience chose you, then you do not win the big prize, only the cash-out amount which is a fraction of the actual gross funding.
So the pressure is really on the Inventor’s to decide while assessing their performance. Wow, this can be overwhelming, but it makes for an exciting family hour of watching a great show on a Sunday night.
It is a great time to have a show to assist inventor’s to raise the cash they need to fulfill their business ideas when the economy today limits the ability to get funding from banks and others. Hats off to the Funderdome!!
